Depew graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Ohio State University in Mathematical Sciences.

Depew is a 1994 graduate of Linsly and played football for his alma mater, lettering for three years under Head Coach Terry Depew from 1990 to 1993. His coaching career began as an assistant at Linsly in 1999 before becoming the head coach in 2006.

Depew has coached numerous players that have gone on to play at all levels of college football and the NFL.

A native of Wheeling, WV, Depew and his wife Tracy have two children Isaac (19), and Noelle (14).
